Our last Zoom social was held on Saturday, July 24th. See the pictures below. This was our final Zoom social for our students. We will still be DJs for a few more Quicksteppers Zoom dances. We want to thank all of you who have joined us for these dances, and especially thank the guest leaders who helped us out so we could keep the dances going. We now feel that enough live venues are opening up that these virtual dances are no longer necessary. We look forward to dancing in person with many of you in the near future

Great news! After being able to conduct only virtual classes for the last year and a half, we are finally going to be able to have live classes again at all the facilities where we were teaching before everything shut down last year. We will be starting with our Fall sessions in all locations. There are some changes to days and times from our previous classes, so see the summary below. More detailed information, including session pricing, registration info, etc will be on the "Class Schedule" pages of this web site by the middle of August. As of now, we have definite schedule info for San Mateo and San Carlos, but are still waiting the final details from Redwood City. The info below reflects what we have had approved verbally, and what we fully expect to be confirmed very soon from Redwood City. As of now, we don't know for sure whether we will be requiring the wearing of masks. It will depend on the situation when the time comes, but we believe there is likely to be some such requirement, at least at first. All of the venues where we teach are city facilities, so we will have to comply with state, county and city policies. We are really looking forward to dancing with all of you in person again!!!

SAN MATEO:  Classes in San Mateo, at the Beresford Community Center, will start on Wednesday evening September 8th. There will be a change in the times. The city wants to close down the building by 9 P.M., so the classes will need to be earlier. Basic Beginner class will be 6:30 to 7:30 P.M., and Next Steps will be from 7:45 to 8:45 P.M.

SAN CARLOS: Classes in San Carlos, at the Adult Community Center, will start on Thursday,September 9. The times here have changes also. The Basic Beginner class will be from 11:30 A.M to 12:45 P.M. and the Intermediate class form 12:45 to 2:00 P.M.

REDWOOD CITY: Classes in Redwood City at the Community Activities Building will start on Thursday evening, September16. There is no change to the previous times. The Basin Beginner class will be from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. and the Intermediate class from 8:00 to 9:00 P.M.

REDWOOD CITY: The classes at the Veteran's Memorial Senior Center, which had been held previously on Monday mornings, will now be on Tuesday mornings beginning on September 14. The High Beginner class will be from 10:00 to 11:15 A.M. and the Intermediate from 11:15 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. There will also be a change in the payment procedures for these classes. We will no longer be using the old method with the 8 week sessions. It will be like our other classes, where you can sign up for a whole session (cost comes out to $5 per class plus admin fee or $8 for combo) or drop-in each week for $6 for one class or $10 for the combo.

Thehe dances will be held (using Zoom) on the first, third, and fifth Saturdays. They will be in the afternoon, dancing from 2 to 4 PM, with a chance to visit and socialize before the dance starting at 1:30, and for a little time at the end of the dance. The dances are FREE to attend. Information on how the dances will work, how to join in, etc is available on the Country Quicksteppers' web site. There is also info there about how Zoom works for anyone who has not used it before. While this technology is not perfect, and it is not the same as dancing together, the consensus seems to be that it is better than nothing and the best we can do for now.
